Mommy guilt

On Monday after dropping Alanna off at school, I went over to TJ's to do a little shopping for the fam. I had Luke with me and he wasn't feeling very good. I'm leaving the store and pushing my cart and carrying my 1 year old too (that weighs 22 lbs) and this lady came up to me and said, "I saw you walking across the parking lot and I felt like I need to tell you, you are a really good mom" Then she put all my bags in the trunk and took my cart back up to the store. Wow!

The thing that was really awesome about that is I have felt like a horrible mom lately. Luke started in daycare last week. It's at our Church and I work at the church so he's just a block away from me but still - my kid is in daycare. I have had the privilege to have Luke with me everyday in my office for the last year. We've spent everyday together and now I miss him like crazy. I am also riddled with Mom guilt. So this stranger at Trader Joe's stops to tell me I'm a good mom. Even as I write this it brings tears to my eyes. Not because I think she is wrong but because I know she is right. I also know that God sent her to me to tell me the exact words I needed to hear at that exact moment. Thank you God!

I completely understand where you are coming from...I have those days...seasons...BUT...we have to remember....
You are a wonderful Mom, Jessica! You are because God made you to be. Your children were fearfully and wonderfully made for you to take care of...and God knew what he was doing! He gave those kiddos the best Mom Evah!
All Mom Guilt is Satan's lies! So "Shut de do and keep out dat Devil!"
You are a beautiful, lovely Mom...whom Alanna and Luke absolutley adore!
