This weekend Kris Vallotton from Bethel Church in Redding, CA came down and did a conference. It was GREAT!!! He spoke on the Supernatural Ways of Royalty and that we are all royalty and should approach the thrown of God with confedence. It was way cool and at times he totally blew my mind away...
So, after Kris speaks he opens up time for prophetic ministry. A word was given to me and my husband Paul and here it is:
We were going to buy a house (we close on our house March 15th)
We had just been through a storm but it was over now. It was demonic in nature and we had been blaming ourselves for this time of strife but it was nothing that we caused. (In April 2006 Paul lost his job totally unfair and with no real reason. He did not find work again till November of 2006. We just found out his old boss was demoted due to a class action lawsuit that was being brought against her for unfair terminations and discrimination.)
He then asked if we had ever been sued. (we have and lost $25,000) He then said that God's justice would be heard on that and we are having a new lawyer assigned to our case, Jesus Christ, and that we would be victorious and would be repaid plus 700% interest. We would see the first deposit of the money in the next 18 months. (we'll keep you posted on the money!)
So it was really cool to have that encouragement and the word of confermation about Paul loosing his job. He has always blamed himself for it - that there was something he could have done to change what happend.

Happy V-Day
V-day wasn't too exciting. Paul's been sick and I guess in his haze of anti-biotics he thought a good token of our love would be a candy bar. So, last night when I got home from work there was a candy bar on the kitchen counter. I ask "what's this?" and he said "oh babe, that's your valentine's present" thinking it was a joke a laugh and he says, "what are you laughing at" Needless to say love was in the air at the Eveland house. I hate that I expect something on this day and I put expectation onto Paul. The "something" I'm expecting doesn't have to be a thing.

Local Business
There is something inherently good about supporting local businesses. Don't get me wrong, I believe in capitalism and free market trade. But there is just something about supporting your neighbor in their business endeavor. So many hopes, dreams and love are tied into that local coffee shop, paint store, craft store, hardware store, etc. Family legacy is also such a huge part of why they are doing what they do. They care about you because they need you. You are their customer. Go to Home Depot and their are 100 employees working that are wishing they were anywhere but at Home Depot. I go to Pioneer Mercantile and there are 3 old dudes behind the counter drinking coffee and eating doughnuts. I walk in and I have 3 highly skilled old dudes helping me get the perfect light switch covers for my new house. If your lucky and have a few extra minutes, maybe you can have a cup of coffee and a doughnut too and they tell you stories of the first house they bought in Bakersfield for $18,000. That's just cool.
Here are a couple of my favorites in Bakersfield:
- Green Frog Market (NE Bakersfield off Oswell)
- Country Cottage Coffee (Truxtun and N)
- Sequoia Paint (N. 19th Street) - they make the paint - not just mix the color, they manufacture the paint, right there - custom!
- Strawberry Patch (Off Ming behind OSH) - great fabric store! Really unique pieces

Hello Mortgage!
After 8 long years of apartment living we are finally buying a house! We couldn't be more excited about it either. It's so cool and so huge all at the same time. We are moving to downtown Bakersfield and are a part of an urban redevelopment project. We have a tiny yard (makes Paul very happy he doesn't have take care of a big lawn) but a supercute house. It's 4 bedrooms, 2 story, 2 and 1/2 baths. It's perfect for our family. It's only a couple blocks away from our church and about a mile away from Paul's school. It's currently being built and should be finished in about 3-4 weeks. I'll post some pictures very soon. We're busy buying furniture and trying to pick out paint colors and all that jazz.
I have discovered that my taste is more modern then I thought I was. Not very easy to find - traditional and french country is everywhere! I don't want roosters and overstuffed couches. So, we are really busy packing, cleaning out closets, shopping, etc.
Thank you to everyone that has prayed for us for this to finally be a reality. We love you all!!!!

Fat and Glittery
It's time to start working off this baby weight. Luke's 7 months now and I can't be a fatty forever. I'm also going to be a bridesmaid in July and I do NOT want to be "the fat one".
I have crossed into having to wear "Women's" fashions. There is something I really don't understand about fashions for the larger woman. In an attempt to look younger, hipper designers have decided to encrust big-girl jeans and shirts with lots of glitter, sparkles, jewels and other various sparkly attention grabbing items. Why if I have to wear the big-girl stuff would I want to draw attention to my butt with jewel encrusted back pockets and glittery thighs??? Am I the only one that sees a problem with this?
Back to loosing weight. Here I go and it's a good thing. I'm going to start slow so I don't doom myself to failure. First, I need to weigh myself to see exactly were I am at (YIKES!!) Then for the first month I will stop eating every night at 8:00 pm, no alcohol, start exercising 3 days a week and write down what I eat. I think this is a do-able start. I will use my blog as accountability and update those that are interested in my progress or lack there-of.

O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree
Merry Christmas! Well, almost Merry Christmas... There were so many things that I wanted to blog about and now that I actually have a moment to sit down at the computer, I can't think of anything.
I did just get over a really bad stomach flu/bug...I'm talking pukin' and poopin', it was HORRIBLE!!!! I'm sooo glad that is over. Luke and I are fighting off a cold right now.
I'm really looking forward to Christmas this year. I think because it is Luke's first. Firsts are special. I love having a boy. It's so fun to get boy stuff, boy clothes, etc. I also love having a girl. Right now that girl is lovin' on Little Mermaid so she is going to have a very special Little Mermaid Christmas. Kids are cool...
Alright, well this was random.
